December 20, 2018

The Northwest Kansas Conservation Foundation granted $ 5,000 to Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors to help grow their Kansas youth programs.  The funding will help support the addition of a Mentoring Coordinator to their staff.

The Mentoring Coordinator will be working to build on our mentoring recruitment efforts of the last 16 years, in partnership with Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters. In addition, Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors has been reaching out to give youth participating in the high school trap league opportunities to hunt. In 2018, there were 58 high schools across Kansas with 1,200+ students participating in the league. There were 875 shooters at the state high school trap shoot, held at the KTA facility north of Wichita in June. The Kansas High School Clay Target league is expecting these number to double for 2019.”  Michael Christensen, Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors, Inc
